Day 235: pan of love
It's no secret the joy a one-pan/traybake/sheet pan creation can bring to a mealtime. An amalgamation of flavour and your favourite ingredients together in a single scene - like finding that dream village to holiday in that has everything you need in walking distance from where you’re staying.
This one brought together everything I love in one pan and the people I love together around the table: Day 235 is Nigella’s One-Pan Sage-And-Onion Chicken and Sausage. Pan juice mops were brought in - in the form of ciabatta - and all contributed to the mopping of said wondrous juices (swipe right, too adorable not to share).
I can also tell you that leftovers - albethey scant - came together to make a most delicious second meal indeed: pulled chicken from bone and chopped into bitesize pieces, together with the sausages, onion and last few (insanely good) roasted lemon husks; grated the zest of half a lemon and minced a large garlic clove into some olive oil in a pan and gently heated; tumbled in the chopped leftovers and heated through before folding in a couple of cupfuls of steaming orzo with parsley, lemon juice and a bit of pasta water; enjoyed bowled up and scattered with more fresh parsley and parmesan.
