Day 257: went wild

Went wild: Day 257 is Nigella’s Wild Garlic Pesto - the elixir of Spring. This is the stuff that coursed through the veins of the goddess Flora herself. Applied here to a mass of hot, golden strands of glorious carbohydrate with masses of butter, and a glug of extra virgin oil for extra earthy goodness and a wisp of bitter (+ I like my fats, okay).

I don’t usually go in for strewing things with edible flowers but I feel these dainty, elegant beauties deserved their time in the tangle and light, too (especially considering we have to wait another year to see them again!)

Thought I might have stretched the 150ml of WGP a little thin across the amount of spaghetti I had made for dinner, and although it didn’t glow a verdant emerald, it certainly made its presence known on the tongue. A couple of small, flowering, plush clumps of wild garlic left in the garden for another batch, or two, of this over the next few days.

The recipe for this is in Cook Eat Repeat and on nigella.com (link below).
