Day 182: my kind of lunch

I’ve wittered on long enough in previous posts about my love of shellfish, so I’ll do you a favour and refrain from repeating myself today. But for those of you who are just joining us, or have only done so recently: I adore shellfish, particularly clams and mussels. And it was a noticeable lack of these in my life recently that prompted me to dig up the #shellfishsaturdays hashtag again and make Nigella’s Cod with Clams. A meal I’ve been obsessing over ever since reading about it during my first few flicks through the captivating pages of How To Eat (a Valentine's Day gift from my husband earlier this year).

Nigella's Cod with Clams

My kind of lunch: the kind that involves the clank of shells and a rich shellfish liquor to slurp and dunk chewy bread in. Day 182 is Nigella’s Cod with Clams, and it's positively divine! I think sherry with shellfish may be my new favourite thing; it’s intoxicating in every good way possible (see also Nigella’s Clams with Chorizo (Day 37) and Linguine with Mussels (Day 131)). This is the kind of lunch you smile the whole way through, stopping only occasionally to mop up the sauce that’s escaping down your chin.

You can find the recipe for Nigella’s Cod with Clams on pp139-40 of How To Eat and on nigella.com (link below).
