Day 186: na zdrowie

A wonderful one to stumble upon during a last-minute, frantic scroll through nigella.com, in search of an answer to a question that’s asked at least once a day in households across the world (“what’s for dinner tonight?”). The answer to that, and Day 186: Nigella's Penne Alla Vodka.

Nigella’s Penne Alla Vodka

This is rich, sharp and bright, and gloriously comforting (as any bowl of pasta should be). The slow softening of the onions and drawn-out simmering of the tinned tomatoes really deepens the flavours of the (very few) ingredients this recipe calls for. (The butter’s lush too). Soplica was our vodka of choice - this is a Polish-English household after all - and we took the opportunity to toast the recent release of “Zrób, zjedz, powtórz” (#CookEatRepeat in Polish) with a kieliszek (little glass) of it on the side. Na zdrowie Nigella!
