Day 247: gorgeous in green
Although I’ve watched the children nibble their way through many small chunks of various different blue cheeses, I did wonder if the the ‘everything verdant’ about this one would sound their inner ‘incoming something green’ alarms, and so I did watch with baited breath as each of them tucked in. Every bowl was licked clean and seconds were demanded.

Nigella’s Green Pasta with Blue Cheese
I thought I'd have to dampen the rasp of the gorgonzola with a little double cream (I know mascarpone might have been preferable, but I don’t always have it; whereas double cream I do). Nope! It didn’t phase the cherubs one little bit.
The pasta wasn’t quite as well coated as it should be; I doubled the recipe, but didn’t think ahead and plan a big enough pot to cook it all in. I didn’t have the room for that slow and important tumble of the pasta with sauce and starchy cooking water. Also, it got a little mushed up and squidged about as I attempted as I attempted to do so.
