Day 307: a dose of autumn cheer
Offering a joyful dose of autumny cheer to your timelines this morning with this photo of a gingery, ginger-studded, ginger-jewelled sweet treat and collections from our woodland adventures with the kids: Day 307 is Nigella’s ‘right up my street’ Ginger and Walnut Carrot Cake.
I feel the photo’s missing a gingerbread latte and a pair of hand-knitted gloves to harness the ultimate autumn cliché (and trust me when I say if I had thought of it at the time I totally would have done it). That being said, I don’t really do coffee and food; as much as I love it, it’s always tea and cake for me. And we haven’t yet unboxed the knitwear and swapped the coats on the coat rack - tonight’s task, husband!
Nigella’s Ginger and Walnut Carrot Cake
I am very proud of my own carrot cake recipe - which I’ve been perfecting for over ten years, and that changes every time I make it - and rarely make any other; this, however, is truly delightful and will feature often on our cake stand.
The recipe for Nigella’s Ginger and Walnut Carrot Cake can be found in At My Table and on nigella.com (link below).
